What I Wore Yesterday + Giveaway {Closed}

I live in upstate New York.  The weather here is incredibly moody.  This Summer, it has rained throughout the beginning, then there was a small stretch of high 90’s, and recently its been feeling like Fall.  Yup.  I said it.  Don’t get me wrong, Fall is my all time favorite season, but I just want to cling onto Summer until the last drop of it is swallowed by the crisp air and colorful leaves.  It’s still barely August!

Because of this cooky weather, I had to share with you something ironic I noticed about what I was wearing yesterday.  What cracks me up about my outfit is that I was dressed in a 3/4 length shirt, a blazer, a scarf, jeans and… flip flops? I know, I know, but I just cannot give in to wearing closed toed shoes when the calendar still says Summer.  Flip flops embody Summertime and I am stubbornly holding onto this season until September even if it’s chilly out.  So there. Take that, weather.

By the way,  I recently purchased my first Coach bag ever.  It was a big splurge for me, but I know I will have it forever, and I believe in investing in classic quality pieces that last.  I really really really like it, and I want you to have the chance to own your own, or one that you like.  Therefore, one of you lucky readers will be receiving a $50 gift to Coach! *

To be entered into this giveaway, you must either comment below about what your staple Summer fashion item is or “Like” this post on the Story Style Vision Facebook page (the link is at the top). The deadline is August 11th, 2013.

Good luck!

* This is not a sponsored post.  One winner will be randomly selected.  Valid to U.S. residents only.  $50 Coach gift expires on August 31, 2013.

    Hi Maggie! I love your bag! I went to a Coach outlet recently and felt like they didn’t have any classic styles that one would want to have forever – but that bag is a keeper! I think my summer staple may be dresses because they tend to be so versatile. Add a scarf or a sweater depending how chilly it is, or wear as is if its hot. Perfect for me!!

      Thanks!! I too have been wearing dresses a ton this Summer. You should check out Clothes Mentor at the Crosstown Plaza. I just got one there for $7!

    Your just fab Maggie! My staple summer fashion item(s) are tank-tops in every color. Great for wearing alone or layering.

      I agree. My Toms are THE MOST comfortable shoe I own.

    At camp, my summer staple was my bathing suits! …And lots of shorts and T-shirts 🙂 This summer, my summer fashion staple(s) are skirts. Nice and cool when it’s hot, and dressier than just shorts.

    I have been loving this year’s summer dress trend– but I just can’t pull it off at the playground running after a 1 1/2 year old! My summer staple has been MY bag that I wear cross body. I love having my hands free!

      That 1 1/2 year old is super sweet. I bet she has an amazing aunt…

    Great outfit and coach bag Maggie! Fall is my favorite wardrobe season, but like you I want a few more hot summer days to wear shorts and racerback tanks. This weather is good for wearing shorts and a long sleeved chambray top. Hmm…maybe an outfit for our next trip to the confectionary! : )

      You definitely rock that chambray! 😉

    I can’t bear the thought of covering up my toes yet either! But they are the first things to feel the cold. My favorite summer item – my Froggie shoes. (You’ll have to ask Hayley about that.) And as for a scarf – to me, THAT definitely signifies an end to summer. No scarves for me just yet!
