This Old House Update

IMG_5236

This past month of home-ownership has been a complete whirlwind. A month? Already? It’s crazy, I know. Brandon and I have been really busy frantically preparing for foam insulation. We decided early on in this process, after pulling down piles mouse poop infested fiberglass and loose blown insulation, that we were going foam. In order to do so, we needed to pull out the existing walls and every.last.nail. in the each of the studs. We knew going into this, that purchasing an old house was going to be a lot of work, and this past month has certainly proved that.

Brandon and I are so incredibly blessed to have the support of  our friends and family who have scrambled to help us- in particular Brandon’s buddy Dan, my father and my mother who not only has been helping with the demolition but she has brought us a warm meal almost everyday. Even my sister who was only here for only a day from out of town, came over and helped this week!

One major milestone done, several to go!

Great work! Foam insulation is the best. I have to stop by again because I’m confused where everything is now.
P.S. Ikea is having a sale 20% off all kitchens if you want to price compare

It is exciting to see someone else going through the same process my hubby and I are going through! We gutted the house, raising the second floor roof, and adding on a huge addition to the house. Looking good, it will all be worth it when you have the house of your dreams for a fraction of the cost!

Thank you Linda!! Yes, it’s a TON of work, but we know it’s worth it! Good luck with your house projects!!
