A Peek Into the Past: 3 Years Ago

The first bit of demolition

Throwback to where it all started.

Hi there! Remember me? My apologies for the lack of posts in the last several weeks. Brandon and I hit the turbo button again on the house. We have accomplished SO much since August, and I can’t wait to share it with you. (The fireplace! The downstairs bathroom! The flooring!!) We’ve recorded a lot of it on video, so I’ll share with you as soon as its ready!

Lately I’ve been reflecting on the past 3 years, going through some images from when it all started. I’m not sure why, but I’ve been struggling with this anxiousness about the house. I mean, I should be excited that we are so close to finishing, not worried! People keep asking me what we are going to do when we finish, and the truth is, I have no clue. I don’t know what life is going to be like outside of “working on the house.” I have wanted to be done with this work for 3 years. Now that it’s almost here, it doesn’t feel real.

On a positive note, we would NEVER have gotten this far without our friends and family the past few months. Brandon and I have such a solid support system, and we are so grateful for you. Our parents, siblings, coworkers, and best friends are the reason we are where we are today. The late nights turned morning, coffee deliveries, extra muscle, and encouragement- we are forever grateful for our friends and family.

I thought you’d like to see some photos we’ve never shared before. These were taken around the middle of September through the end of October 2014. This is a reflection of where we were at during that time, and it’s crazy to think of how far we’ve come! I hope you enjoy some of these throwback memories.
