Facial From Your Fridge

Don’t ask me why, but my younger sister convinced me to do an at home facial… using ingredients from my refrigerator! She is currently studying nutrition, and had come up with a recipe for a DIY facial mask based upon her research.  So, like any good big sister, I trusted her experience, and dove into making my own facial mask.  I used the recipe she recommended: plain yogurt (any brand will due, I used Chobani) honey, vitamin C tablets, and green tea.

The first thing I did was finely crush the vitamin C tablets with a muddler.  Then I ripped open two green tea bags, and poured the dry tea leaves over the crushed vitamin C.  Next I added about a 1/4 cup of yogurt, and about 1 teaspoon of honey.  I mixed all the ingredients together thoroughly, then applied it to my face. 1051vitaminC copy

OK, OK, I know this whole thing sounds really weird, but I have to confess that while the mask was on my face, it felt so great.  It has a cooling affect, and felt really refreshing.  I kept it on for about 20 minutes, then washed it off.

I was a little apprehensive at first, to try it, but I am glad that I did in the end.  Go ahead, I dare you to try it!

xo,
Maggie
