An Encouraging Business Review

Jan 27, 2016AT WORK

I recently read this really interesting article about home sales last year in the Albany area where I live and do business. This feature published by the Albany Business Review has particularity great news for those of you who are looking to buy or sell a house in the upstate New York area. Data released by Greater Capital Association of Realtors “show there were 10,239 closings on single-family homes last year through the Capital Region Multiple Listing Service, a 10 percent increase over 2014 and the highest total since 2006.” There were many contributing factors to the increase in house sales. The steady low interest rates for mortgages, the rise in job creation in the Capital District, and lower inventory of houses which increased the demand all played a part.

I found this article to be particularly encouraging as someone who works in real estate full time. I’ve only had my license for less than a year, but I’ve been working in the housing industry for over two and a half years.  Over last year, I got to witness firsthand at my job, the housing growth that this article describes. I mean, living in this area is great for many reasons: the 4 distinct changing seasons, proximity to at least 3 major cities within 3-4 hours drive, etc. But seeing the data of how many other people decided to plant roots here last year is awesome, right?!

I know I said that Brandon and I love living in the Capital District, but we especially love our house. How about you? If you live in the Albany area, do you love it here, or are you dreaming of another place to live? Let me know in the comments below.

Oh by the way, if you or anyone you know is interested in buying or selling their house, I’d love to help them! Contact me on my business page for more information.
