Hers and His Easter Baskets

I remember when I was a little girl, I would always look forward to Easter Sunday.  My siblings and I would gather around the kitchen table together and dye Easter eggs, listening to the oldies while my mother sat at the sewing machine patiently making our Easter dresses. (I used to love matching with my sisters!) Although I haven’t had the time to dye eggs this year, I did manage to squeeze in a moment to put together an Easter basket for my husband and myself- a hers and his style if you will.

Although in the past, I would lose sleep over looking forward to the traditional Easter basket, these days I love the idea of a more grown up basket. It’s way more practical to have a “basket” that is something that I can use all year round- not stow away in the closet the rest of the year with the rest of the holiday decorations. This year I invested my time in shopping for a “basket” I know completely suits my husband- as well as a “basket” I know I will enjoy myself after Easter.

My Easter Basket below includes:

– A cute scented candle
– A beautiful handmade tea cup
– Some of my favorite teas
– Delicious orange infused honey
– My favorite candy at the moment- salted caramel dark chocolate.
– The best lipgloss ever from Victoria’s Secret
– A Coach Poppy purse spray
– Springy nail polish

I think its much more thoughtful to put together a basket of items that Brandon can use year round rather than items he will just ingest for a few days. I put together a combination of treats I know he will enjoy long after Easter Sunday. Plus this basket totally suits him!! You can definitely do something similar for the man in your life.

– Craft beer from a local brewery
– A matching scented candle to mine
– Small bottle of cologne
– Starburst jelly beans
– Uh-mazing smelling sandalwood soap
– Peeps (I mean, how could I not?)
– Eggs with a surprise inside

This Easter weekend I am looking forward to meeting my newest niece who lives in NYC- she’s a mere 3 weeks old! I’m also excited that this year Brandon and I have found a new church to belong to and I cannot wait to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ with my husband in our new local church.

What is one of your favorite childhood memories of Easter?
