I really enjoy making gifts for my friends and family, but I also love receiving handmade gifts as well. Some of my most treasured gifts are ones that were made from the heart. (I still have a small felt ‘beany bear’ that my older sister made me when I was in elementary school). It says a lot to the person you love that you took the time to make him or her something meaningful.  This simple DIY jewelry holder is great gift idea- it’s very easy to make, and can be appreciated by anyone. I was inspired to make this when walking past the decorative dishes in Target one day. (Target has a way of doing that to me) I saw these bowls and thought they would be so cute holding jewelry or loose items on a vanity (bobby pins, lip balms, hair ties, etc). All you need to recreate this simple gift are bowls of your choice and craft pens that will write on ceramic, which I also purchased at Target. (Make sure you follow the instructions on the paint markers, and do not serve food in these dishes after writing in them). Since I have a bad habit of leaving my earrings and hair ties scattered about, these dishes are perfect for corralling all of those loose items into one charming little place. You can really write or draw anything you want on them!
