Business Casual Stripes

There are a few things more wonderful to me than a new dress that is well made, fits properly, is incredibly comfortable and has stripes in the material. Lately I have been on the hunt for long sleeve dresses that are also an appropriate length for my comfort level. (I’m super picky about dresses!) So naturally when I came across this navy dress with gold stripes at a Zara store in Chicago, I couldn’t walk away from it. It’s made from a stretchy cotton material that is soft and has a nice amount of give to it when I move. Personally, I don’t feel comfortable in skin tight clothing, and this dress is a perfect balance of give and take. It looks polished and professional- not frumpy, but relaxed in well suited manner. This dress is my new number one go to outfit- it doesn’t even need to be ironed which is amazing. I could easily wear this dress meeting with real estate clients, or to a business lunch and effortlessly transition from work to a night out with Brandon. I chose to pair it with my short nude pumps and a red lip (“Ladybug” by MAC).

This particular dress is no longer on sale on Zara’s website, but they have a similar one available in the same cut. I usually order a size up in Zara clothing since they tend to run a bit smaller than my normal size. (I’m wearing a size medium in this dress.) In case you are wondering, my other favorite long sleeve dress with stripes is featured here.
