Maybe it’s because we {still} don’t’ have our heating installed yet, (we’re almost there!) but this winter seems extra cold to me. Lately, our spare time is spent working on wrapping up the radiant floor heating system, then we can move onto the finishing touches upstairs. With the cold weather brings the need for certain added comforts to keep me going. Over the past couple months, I’ve taken note of specific items I consistently keep grabbing either to stay warm or fight against the affects of the cold weather. Here are my 5 winter must haves:

1) (Above) EOS Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm– I bought this from an end cap at a grocery store in desperation because my lips were sooo chapped and in the words of Napoleon Dynamite “they hurt real bad.” Ever since that day, I have kept this lip balm in my winter coat pocket, and I reach for it on a regular basis and my lips have felt smooth and moisturized ever since! By the way, those gloves I’m wearing above have an added bonus, which you can read about here.

Vest
2). J. Crew shiny puffer down vest. I bought this vest at my J. Crew store back in November- maybe even as far back as October- and I have never regretted it. When the weather here is in the single digits, this vest is great for adding another layer under my coat, or as an outer layer on the warmer winter days.

3). O’Keeffe’s Working Hands cream. With all the work that we have been doing on the house the past few months between the drywall, painting, flooring installation, not to mention I’m washing my hands every other second, it feels like all the moisture in my hands just escapes into the cold. I have been so grateful to have Working Hands cream because I seriously use it all the time and it’s made a huge difference in my hands. It’s available at Home Depot or pretty much any hardware store or pharmacy.

4) Darn Tough socks. Hands down (or should I say, feet down) these are the best socks you will ever have in your entire life. Now let me clarify, these socks are certainly not made for their looks, but they are the warmest most durable socks you will ever have. In fact, Darn Tough socks are so amazing they have a lifetime warranty. Brandon swears by these socks, and absolutely raves about them so I had to try out a pair and they did not disappoint. I should probably confess that I actually do not own a pair of Darn Tough socks, I steal them from my husband. Shh. Don’t tell.

5). Dunkin Donuts Almond Milk Lattes. I have always been a Starbucks gal but I have to hand it to Dunkin Donuts on this one. Until now, I never ordered drinks from Dunkin Donuts- that is until they started carrying Almond Breeze as a non-dairy milk alternative. I have been ordering hot almond milk lattes left and right and they are deliciously addicting, and perfect as an afternoon pick-me-up. I enjoy them so much that I think you should be able to try one too! I will be giving away a $5 Dunkin Donuts gift cards to a few randomly selected winners. All you need to do to enter is comment below either here or on Facebook and let me know one of your winter must haves this season. I’m curious to know! You have until January 30th 2015. Winners will be notified via email.

Stay warm!
