3 Delicious Ideas for Leftover Eggnog

I really do not enjoy drinking straight eggnog.  I think the thick texture plus the fact there is literal egg mixed in just doesn’t do it for me.  I do however like using eggnog as an accent in holiday treats because the flavor is actually quite nice.  If you’re like me, and don’t have any idea what to do with all the leftover eggnog, I have 3 delicious ideas for you.

1). Use equal parts eggnog and water instead of milk for pancake batter.  If the quantity you are making requires 1 cup of milk, use 1/2 cup of eggnog and 1/2 cup of water. The pancakes come out so wonderfully fluffy and delicious.

2).  While we are at the breakfast table, another great use for leftover eggnog is using it as coffee creamer instead of half in half or milk.  It gives coffee just the perfect balance of milky sweetness.  If you can’t stomach that in the morning, brew decaf coffee and make a warm eggnog coffee beverage before you snuggle into bed.

3).  And for those of you who enjoy a stiff drink like my husband, his favorite drink for the past couple of weeks has been a whiskey eggnog.  To make this drink, measure a shot (or two) of whiskey, then fill the glass the rest of the way with eggnog.  Stir and enjoy!
